Our Story-3

Our Story

After 7 years as boyfriend and girlfriend, James proposed on Friday March 14th, 2008 at around 5:15 (Yes we took note of the time, lol). He had told me a week or so before that he had wanted to take me out. In my head, I was thinking yaaay food and that we we're going out to eat at a nice restaurant since we try to do that at least once a year. So the day comes and we're in the car driving and when I see the signs for Williamsburg, I know we are going to Peter Lugers Steakhouse! I was so excited because Peter Lugers is one of our "spots". However, James still tried to throw me off as I'm guessing in the car, by telling me that I'm wrong, "It's not Peter Lugers."

The funny thing is that on the way to the restaurant, I told James how I had a dream the night before that we got married, not having a clue what was about to happen. He later told me that he was getting nervous because he thought I knew something. So we get to our destination, and I was right, we went to Peter Lugers Steak House! We are seated on the first floor right next to the window and we're enjoying our steak and talking. He keeps asking me if I'm enjoying my self and I'm thinking of course, why does he keep asking me that. Then James starts telling me how happy he is that we're together and that I stayed with him through the Academy and I'm continuing to eat my steak because it's sooooo good and because I have heard James say this to me before.

Then I see him reach into his pocket and I still don't think much of it until I see a black box and him get down on his knee at the table. When I tell you that I looked so shocked and serious, I mean there was not smile on my face, lol. I was absolutely stunned. James said "Would you do me the honor of being my wife?" and put a ring on it as Beyonce would say. I replied "Yes!!!!!." I honestly could not believe it and I was so happy!!! Not to mention, I had never felt so much love coming from complete strangers! The entire restaurant clapped (We had no idea anyone was even paying attention because our table was in a corner). We had waiters, couples, and a group of guys having a night out congratulate us with champaigne and deserts. They were giving us advice and telling us how being married has enriched their lives. The entire day was awesome (including the weather) and it's a moment that James and I will never forget! I smile to myself every time I think about it!!!!! I'm smiling now!
